CE Course Calendar

    Monthly Schedule of Mandatory Continuing Education (MCE) Courses A calendar of core and elective courses by date, title, location, number of hours and provider.
Continuing Education Requirements
  • Active Salesperson and Broker licensees will need a total of 10 hours of continuing education (4 hours must be the mandatory/core course and the remaining 6 hours may be elective course hours)
  • Active Broker-in-Charge licensees re required to have the mandatory BIC Duties and Responsibilities course (4 hours), mandatory core course (4 hours), and 2 hours of electives
  • Active Property Manager, Property Manager-in-Charge, and Timeshare Salesperson are not required to take continuing education
  • Inactive licensees-CE will not be required until the licensee reactivates licensure. Continuing Education is required for any non-exempt Salesperson or Broker prior to "active" biennial renewal
Continuing Education Exemptions
  • All exemptions must be reported to CE broker with each renewal cycle for your South Carolina License: Step-by-step instructions for reporting exemption
  • Continuing Education Exemption Form
    • CE Exemptions submitted for renewals should be reported during the open renewal period (April-June of the expiry year). CE Exemptions submitted for reactivations outside of the open renewal period should be submitted for the previous renewal cycle.
  • Salesperson who took broker pre-licensing courses: Broker IIIA and III B courses taken during the biennial cycle can be used for a continuing education exemption, ONLY if you are is licensed as a SALESPERSON at the time of renewal
  • Partial CE Exemption:

    In accordance with SC Code Ann. § 40-57-340(B)(1)(e) a licensees must meet the following criteria:

    • Minimum of twenty-five (25) years of licensure in South Carolina.
    • Licensees granted partial exemption are required to complete the mandatory four (4) hour core course. A Broker-in-Charge with a partial exemption are required to complete the mandatory four (4) hour core course and four (4) hour BIC Duties and Responsibilities course and is only exempt from two (2) elective hours.

    Exemptions are not effective until confirmation from the Commission office has been sent. To submit waiver request please utilize Document Submission

  • Full CE Exemption:

    To qualify for Full CE Exemption, in accordance with SC Code Ann. § 40-57-340(B)(1)(d) a licensees must meet the following criteria:

    • Twenty-five (25) years or more of licensure in South Carolina.
    • Age sixty-five (65) or more (submit a copy of state/federal ID with date of birth with form).

    Exemptions are not effective until confirmation from the Commission office has been sent. To submit waiver request please utilize Document Submission

  • Nonresident Licensee Exemption: If you are a nonresident that has met the continuing education requirements of your resident licensed jurisdiction, you can be exempt from continuing education in South Carolina. You will be required to self-report through the continuing education tracking provider, CE Broker.
  • Military Service- Active Duty: Active duty licensees in the United States Military are exempt from CE for the periods of service. You will need to upload military orders through the continuing education tracking provider, CE Broker.
