The South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (aka LLR) is an umbrella agency responsible for promoting the health, safety and economic well-being of the public through regulation, licensing, enforcement, training and education.

We license your doctor, the person who built your home, the cosmetologist and barber who cut your hair and a multitude of other professions. Our boards also ensure that those seeking licensure meet qualifications and that those who commit misconduct are disciplined in order to protect the public's safety.

The SC Division of Labor works with every employee and employer in South Carolina to ensure safety and fairness in the workplace and includes SC OSHA and the Offices of Wages and Child Labor, Labor Mediation, and Immigration Compliance.

State Fire

At South Carolina State Fire, our mission is to be the focal point for service and support to save lives and property. We train the firefighters and emergency responders who protect your community. We respond to large-scale fires and disasters when local responders need assistance.

2026 Advistory Election - Board of Chiropractic Examiners Seat

September 9, 2026

Pursuant to South Carolina Code it is the responsibility of the Board of Chiropractic Examiners to conduct advisory elections for two nominees to fill each open seat on the Board. The board is ready to compile the names of those interested and qualified candidates to fill the subject open seat in District 7, with a term expiring on June 30, 2028.

NCLEX Announces Fee Adjustments

September 4, 2026

Effective Feb. 1, 2027, the NCLEX registration fee will be $350 in the United States and Australia. In Canada, the fee will be $570 (CAD). This is the first adjustment to the NCLEX fee since 2000 and reflects 25 years of inflation and rising costs associated with exams, data protection and cybersecurity.
