Twenty-four (24) hours of continuing education are required per two-year registration cycle. The reporting period is from July 1st to June 30th of each odd numbered year, and hours cannot be carried over to the next registration cycle.
If this is your first renewal and you have been registered for less than twenty-four (24) months, your required continuing education hours may be prorated. Please see Regulation 8-150 to determine how many hours of continuing education are required for your renewal.
As a reminder, at its meeting on November 20, 2019, the Building Codes Council determined that ICC examinations passed during the registration cycle may count as one continuing education credit hour. Each registrant seeking continuing education credit for successfully passing one or more ICC examinations must submit proof of his or her examination result(s) to the Council for the one-hour credit.
More information about Continuing Education can be found here.

What do I need to do if the online renewal does not ask me to upload my Continuing Education hours?
If you are not prompted to upload your proof of continuing education at the start of the online renewal, it means that the Building Codes Council has already documented your hours and you are eligible to complete the renewal online.
Do I need to renew my provisional registration?
No, provisional registrants do not renew. Your expiration date is dependent on when you pass your exams and may be found using the Licensee Lookup tool.
