Board of Landscape Architectural Examiners

Board News

  • You are required to renew your individual landscape architect and Certificate of Authorization in South Carolina on or before January 31, 2019, to continue practicing in this state. Online renewal will be available beginning November 5, 2018, through 11:59 p.m. on January 31, 2019 without paying a late fee . Beginning February 1, 2019 thru March 31, 2019, a late fee will be assessed.

    Passwords must be reset before you can renew the license online. You can reset your password by going to the “Recover/Reset My Password” page, and a link to reset your password will be emailed to you. You must have a current email address on file with the Board to be able to reset your password. If you do not have a current email address on file with the Board, please email the Board at Contact.LSA@llr.sc.gov with your name, license number, birth year and current email address before attempting to renew your license. A current email address must now be kept on file with the Board at all times.

    If you wish to pay the renewal fee by check or money order, you must mail it to the Board office with the completed Paper Renewal Form postmarked by the January 31, 2019.

  • Fall 2018 Newsletter

  • The SC Board of Landscape Architectural Examiners no longer pre-approves exam candidates. Candidates can go directly to www.clarb.org to set up an account to begin the registration process for the exam.

  • Pursuant to the SC Code of Laws, Section 40-28-210(8), general or landscape contractors who practice in design, planning, location, and arrangements of plantings or other ornamental features are not required to have a license with the Board of Landscape Architectural Examiners. If you are practicing in this area, please check the S.C. Business One Stop (SCBOS)to determine if you need a business permit through the county where you operate.

  • A continuing education audit form is available for your personal use in tracking credits. Please do not submit this form to Board office unless you are selected for a continuing education audit.
